Fees
$100 – Regular/Student Member (in good standing)

Firm Sponsor Discounts* - $500 Gold Sponsor receives 1) $35 off each non-member firm registrant, 2) an individual table to promote firm/agency, and 3) recognition in our CPE event program.
- $300 Silver Sponsor receives 1) $25 off each non-member firm registrant and 2) recognition in our CPE event program.
- $150 Bronze Sponsor receives 1) $10 off each non-member firm registrant and 2) recognition in our CPE event program.

Policy on Cancellations, Substitutions, and No Shows
Cancellations and substitutions must be in writing and emailed to aswaregistration@comcast.net to ASWA, Brenda Kaku, Event Committee Chair, 48 hours before the event date. You will receive confirmation of you request by email or phone within 24 hours. It is your responsibility to confirm that ASWA received your request.

The following fees apply:
Cancellations Cancellations must be emailed to aswaregistration@comcast.net by 6:00 p.m. on Friday May 14, 2010 to receive a full refund. Cancellations received after this date and time will be charged in full.
Substitutions A registrant may substitute another individual in his/her place.
No Shows A registrant who does not cancel by 6:00 p.m. on Friday May 14, 2010 and does not attend the event will be considered a no show thus resulting in forfeiture of the entire registration fee and course materials.
Scholarship Fund Donations
Firms and member may make a tax-deductible donation to the Sacramento Chapters’ Scholarship Fund.

Speaker Bios
Heidi Berenbrok, CPA – Business Assurance Senior Manager – MOSS ADAMS, LLP
Heidi has over 10 years of public accounting experience serving a variety of financial institutions and serves as the audit manager and engagement reviewer for several of the firm's financial institution clients. Heidi is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group. Services to financial institutions have included financial statement audits, internal control evaluations, and loan file reviews.
Vanessa Burke, CPA – Business Assurance Senior Manager – MOSS ADAMS, LLP
Vanessa has over 19 years of combined experience in both public accounting and in private industry where she served as a controller and CFO. She has served clients in a variety of industries including not-for-profit organizations, hospitals and health care organizations, public employee benefit plans, and audits of privately-owned companies in many industries. Vanessa is the co-leader of Moss Adams’ California Central Valley area not-for-profit and government practice and is also a member of the firm’s Technology-Life Sciences industry group. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), and has taught at the annual governmental conference for the CalCPA.
Darla A. Colson, MST, CPA – Shareholder – GILBERT ASSOCIATES, INC.
Darla has over 27 years of experience in tax, financial planning, privately-held business, nonprofit and associations, and real estate. Darla received her B.S. from California State University, Sacramento and M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University. The shareholder in-charge of the Firm's Tax Department, Darla’s emphasis is in the areas of tax planning, preparation, and representation on audit by regulatory agencies. Darla has experience providing workshops for board members on various aspects of business operations, including budget preparation and understanding financial statements. Darla is also the Chief Financial Officer of the Gilbert Associates, Inc. Darla is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), California Association of Non-Profits, California Society of Association Executives, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), Certified Public Accountants Associates International (CPAAI) Taxation Committee, and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce. Darla has been on a flexible work schedule with Gilbert Associates for over 18 years when her first son was born and has been able to have a fulfilling professional and personal life through flexible work schedules and refined organizational skills.
Thomas M. Gilbert, CPA/CFS – Managing Principal – GILBERT ASSOCIATES, INC.
As Managing Principal and a Certified Fraud Specialist (CFS), Thom and his team place special emphasis on providing forensic accounting and litigation support services to law firms, governmental agencies, non-for-profit organizations and business clientele. Whether it is providing expert testimony, performing a fraud audit, or business valuation, Thom possesses the analytical skills required to obtain a winning edge. He has taught classes for the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), CSU Sacramento, and National University, and is a frequent speaker at conferences on a wide range of audit and accounting topics including fraud, reading and interpreting financial statements, internal controls, and current legislation affecting the accounting and audits of nonprofits and governmental agencies.
John Goodell, CPA – Partner – GOODELL, PORTER, SANCHEZ & BRIGHT, LLP
John is a Partner with the local accounting firm, Goodell, Porter, Sanchez & Bright, LLP. For the past 25 years, the firm has made a specialization of audits of governmental entities. John is the Partner identified for accounting and auditing matters. He has lived in Sacramento all his life and is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento. John has been an accounting instructor and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). When John was eleven years old, his uncle was studying for the CPA exam. John did not know what a CPA was and even though all the other kids wanted to fly planes or play professional baseball when they grew up, he knew then that if his uncle was a CPA then that was what he wanted to do.
John’s personal interests are golf, riding his Harley and everything that interests his grandchildren.
Greg M. Lucido, CPA – Senior Manager – MACIAS GINI & O’CONNELL, LLP
Greg is a graduate of CSU, Sacramento with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant by the California Board of Accountancy. He has over nine years of experience in public accounting with Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP. Greg is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). Greg has made numerous presentations and lectures on various topics to MGO employees, clients, and professional organizations including the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) and the CalCPA.
John Moyle, CPA/CFF, CFE – Partner – UELTZEN & COMPANY, LLP
John is a Partner in the forensic accounting practice of Ueltzen & Company. He has over 34 years of experience in accounting, management, and finance. John has served as Chief Financial Officer in private industry as well as a manager for large public accounting and consulting firms. John earned his CPA certificate in 1980, was awarded his Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in 2002, and earned his Certified Financial Forensics (CFF) designation in 2008. He is a past member of the Board of the Sacramento Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and is an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. John has provided expert witness testimony at trials and depositions in California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wisconsin state courts and is on the faculty of the National Judicial College. John has prepared educational materials and taught accounting, auditing, and fraud classes for the CalCPA Foundation, Lorman Educational Services, the National Judicial College, as well as in-house training seminars.
Michael Ueltzen, CPA/CFF, CFE – Partner – UELTZEN & COMPANY, LLP
Mike is a Partner in the forensic accounting practice. He is a recognized leader in the accounting, auditing and litigation consulting arena throughout California and the nation. He has been instrumental in the establishment of high professional standards for the practice of public accounting in California. Mike is a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He received his Master of Business Administration in 1970. Mike is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) (Past President). Mike was the recipient of the 2002 CalCPA Distinguished Service Award. Mike has testified in Federal and State courts and other tribunals across the United States on numerous occasions. In addition, Mike has been appointed as a Special Master, Referee, and an arbitrator by the Federal and California state courts on several occasions.
Mike’s passion for family, hiking and cross-country skiing can only be mirrored by his passion for the accounting profession.
